Celebrating Malta at the ‘Haus Malta’ in Berlin
Published on 19-Aug-2011
On Saturday 13th August 2011, staff members from the Embassy of Malta in Berlin organised a ‘Malta’ stand at the annual summer feast in “Haus Malta”, a home for the elderly in Berlin. With this year’s theme being ‘the Maltese Islands’, embassy staff were able to present some information about Malta and in the meantime, delight those present with a go at the fortune-wheel and some nice give-aways from Malta.
Residents, their relatives and care workers alike, could also enjoy a nice sunny afternoon and evening in a ‘Maltese’ atmosphere, learning about Malta while having a taste of the Maltese food prepared especially for this occasion according to original recipes provided by the Embassy. Three nursing students prepared and presented a short lecture each on the history of the cities of Valletta, Mdina and Mosta. Many of the family members and relatives of the elderly were very interested to know more about Malta as a holiday destination and were pleased with the variety of information brochures displayed. The same Director of the home said that she will seriously consider spending her next holiday in Malta.
‘Haus Malta’ is a highly quality home for the elderly, with experienced staff and excellent care hosting around 50 seniors.
