Legalisation
The Maltese Consulate may legalise documents which bear the Apostille Certificate of the Maltese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The fee for this service is €22.
Marriage Documents
Maltese citizens, who intend contracting marriage in Belgium or in Luxembourg, must initially request the Marriage Registry, as well as the Public Registry in Malta, to issue two documents confirming applicant’s free status. Upon receipt of the said two documents the Embassy of Malta issues a certificate (referred to as “Certificate de Coutume”) confirming applicant’s free status.
